Home-cooked meals are a must if you want to eat your favorite dishes on a budget and be healthier. But with them comes the pantry that we need to keep stocked, the food that expires too quickly, and the time we need to organize everything.

Does this sound like you?

  • You’d love an organized kitchen where finally you can easily find the ingredients for your next healthy meal.

Hi, I'm Katell!

When I left my parents’ home more than 20 years ago and had to go grocery shopping, I found that, even though it was not natural to me, I needed some organization. That’s how I started meal planning and writing grocery lists.

Since then, I’ve discovered I’m neurodivergent (autism and ADHD) and have accepted I’m a spoonie. Organizing myself has become necessary to do my share of housework without draining myself, and I needed to improve my system around meals and groceries.

That’s why I started a spreadsheet, added some formulas, and tested and tweaked it to make it even more efficient. It became Kitty’s Count & Categorize: the all-in-one easy tool for food inventory, meal planning, and grocery shopping.

I’ve created it to be as simple to use as possible, and the instructions will show you the less trivial steps you may need to take.

Yes! The 6 sheets are for different areas in your kitchen, not food categories.

The elements added to the grocery list will depend only on what you write into the spreadsheet, so you won’t find ham if you’re vegetarian!

The meal plan sheet shows you the food you need to eat quickly, making it easier to add them to your meals.

The only items automatically added to your grocery list are those you choose. Then, you’ll add the ingredients depending on your meals, not the other way around.

Yes! Kitty’s Count & Categorize is a Google Sheet template. An app to view and modify it is available for Android and on the App Store.

The grocery list is designed to fit on narrower screens like smartphones.

Yes! You’ll get video and written instructions showing you how to use it in the format that best suits you.

It will show you the list of the ingredients you need to use first, so you don’t have to check all the dates manually. When writing your grocery list, you won’t have to add again and again those supplies you use weekly again and again.

In the store, you’ll simply follow the grocery list included, knowing all your bases are covered.

Yes! When adding food to Kitty’s Count & Categorize, you’ll also add its expiration date. One week before that, the food’s name color will change to orange, and it will be added to your to-eat-first list on the Meal plan sheet.

On the expiration date, the name’s color will change to red and be crossed out.

Feel free to email me at katell@mycatscleaning.com, and I’ll get back to you shortly.
